The ‘What IF’ Nobody Buys my Online Program Mindset

Hey there.

Are you holding yourself back from building an online health program based on the ‘What IF’? ‘What IF’ I invest time and money into building out a digital health program and nobody buys it?

If so, I am here to expand your mindset to overcome the fear and comfort that is holding you back. You have landed yourself in the right place. A place where I share all things related to building profitable and scalable online health programs to expand your health practice services and reach.

I’m Stephanie Clairmont, the CEO and founder of The Leveraged Practice. I’m honoured to have you here with me today as we entertain one of the most common concerns that arise when considering a shift in your health practice.

Some of you may be shifting your practice completely, exclusively offering digital programs. And, some of you lovely people still want to keep one-to-ones, maybe one or two days a week. But want to expand your practice, serving more people with digital programs, courses and digital assets.

Whether you’re looking to exclusively offer digital programs or expand your services while maintaining one-to-one appointments, this is for you. We’ll explore the fears and doubts that can hinder your progress and discuss strategic solutions and the truth about selling online.

Fear and uncertainty can often cloud our judgment when it comes to taking our health practice to the next level. We’re wired to seek safety and comfort in what we know, even if it doesn’t align with our goals and desires. Counterintuitive, right?

However, if we want to experience growth in our health practice and a fulfilling career as a health provider, we must learn to step outside our comfort zones. And think like successful business owners and entrepreneurs. We need to be okay with taking risks.

When I graduated from my Undergraduate Dietetics Program, I had a below-average score of 72%. I couldn’t secure an internship, a crucial step towards my next career goals. I sought guidance from my Program Advisor, who expressed her doubts in me.

Despite her discouragement, I refused to accept external judgments and defeat. I sought alternative paths to achieve my goals. By defying expectations and persevering, I did it. I made it happen. I’m here to help you do it too.

The prospect of creating an online program or course may seem daunting, and thoughts of nobody buying can consume our minds. But, is that really our wisest self speaking? Or, is it our inner critic fueled by fear? The negative self-talk or negative words in our heads don’t represent our true selves. They’re simply echoes of external influences.

Fear is a natural response when we consider stepping outside of our comfort zones. But, I’m here to tell you that with the right mindset and a solid plan, you can confidently move forward and create a transformative online program that connects and truly helps your audience.

So, shall we get started and address the concerning question: What if nobody buys my online program?

Fear of Failure in Launching Online Programs

As entrepreneurs, we often fall into the trap of playing it safe and sticking to the familiar. But, successful businesses thrive on innovation and diversification, offering multiple products. Just think of
Sarah Blakely, the founder of Spanx, who started with one product and expanded to over a billion-dollar brand.

Change can be uncomfortable and unfamiliar, but growth only occurs when we step outside our comfort zones. Maintaining comfortability or the status quo may feel safe, but it hinders progress and restricts our ability to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset.

Author Danielle Laporte, who is an incredible author, has an incredible book called, ‘The Desire Map: A Guide to Creating Goals with Soul’. In the book it talks about how we often remain in discomfort because it feels familiar. Breaking free from this cycle requires treading into uncharted territory and shattering the barriers that keep us confined to what we know.

Think of discomfort as a catalyst for personal and professional growth in your private practice. Embrace it as a sign that you are on the right path to creating an online program that aligns with you as the practitioner, your patients and your practice.

Let’s discuss strategies to mitigate the risk of launching a program that flops.

Strategic Marketing Plan for Your Online Program Launch

Launching an online program or course requires an investment of time, money, and energy. The fear of failing and not generating sales can be paralyzing, preventing you from taking the leap. It is important to remember that even with a well-executed plan, if we allow our fears to control us, we risk giving up even after launching our program.

To prevent the scenario of nobody buying your program, it’s essential to approach its launch strategically. Conduct thorough market research to identify a gap or demand within your target audience to create a clear road map of what pain points need solutions.

Validating your idea is making sure the market wants it. Making sure people want it. Understand what they want. This can be done through conversations, through social media, through interviews, on the phone or on Zoom.

Then build your digital program with the customer in mind: duration, price, and what’s included to provide a solution to the problem. A lot of my clients even start by selling to their own clients so their current clients or their past clients. That way they can do a beta version of it. A test version.

Build anticipation by sharing valuable content and insights related to your program’s focus. Utilize engagement techniques such as webinars, email lists, and creating engaging content on social media to create buzz and attract potential customers. And, most importantly, believe in the value and impact of the digital program you’re offering.

Do not underestimate your capabilities of being able to create an online program that will be of value to your market. Confidence is key when it comes to selling your online program. You have to celebrate your achievements and embrace the positive impact you’re making in the lives of your clients.

Building Your Community of Health Entrepreneurs

Becoming an entrepreneur requires a shift in mindset from health provider to business owner. It entails stepping into uncharted territory, embracing risk, and thinking outside the box.

Take a moment to reflect on the limiting beliefs that are preventing you from building an online program and/or course. Are they based on societal expectations, past failures or the fear of being judged by others?

Embrace the discomfort and the fear, confront your limiting beliefs by gathering evidence of your capabilities and achievements, so you can start reshaping your mindset with positive affirmations.

Seek guidance from mentors. And, invest in courses or coaching that will strengthen your business decisions. Something that really helped me beyond hiring mentors and taking courses, was surrounding myself with people who believed what I believed and surrounding myself with proof. A supportive network of like-minded individuals.

Follow people who are in the health field running digital programs. Running successful launches. Follow coaches, and course creators, and other people in the health field that are showing you, it’s possible.

Get yourself into a community or build some friendships and conversations with people who are doing this. Be around people that believe in you and encourage your entrepreneurial growth.

Challenges with Digital Course Launches

Building an online program is not without its challenges, and setbacks are a part of the journey. But, remember, failure is an opportunity for growth and learning, not a reflection of your worth or potential.

At this point, I’ve made over $3 million with digital programs. And, yet, I still have to brace myself for failure when launching a new webinar, course, or offering. Like, when we launched our all-in-one TLP Tech platform. We built it for our clients, our community.

When we first launched it, we had one person interested and didn’t even buy it. So, we switched it up and launched it a different way. Which worked and became our initial launch. And, moving forward I know I’m still going to encounter these failures. We have to be okay with that. Alright?

As we wrap up, remember that building an online program or course is not just about generating sales. It is an opportunity for personal and professional growth as a health provider. It is for redefining your private practice, and for serving your audience more effectively and efficiently.

Now, I hope you feel empowered and ready to take the next steps towards building and selling your online program. Remember, success is within your reach, and you have the support and guidance, your cheerleader, here at The Leveraged Practice.
